this is based on usage in the game. some of these have the potential to do more things, but i'm simplifying their meanings here to fit how isat uses them as to not overcomplicate things

dialogue options

note: writing this from memory and not checking plugins for confirmation

the way dialogue options work is that sometimes, they'll have conditions built into them.

the stuff in the double angle brackets (here, <<v[1] > 0>>) is a boolean. if it evaluates to true, the dialogue option will NOT be shown. if it evaluates to false, it will be shown.

v[n] is referring to a variable. you can find the list of variables here.

for example, <<v[1] > 0>> means "show this dialogue option if it is loop 0 (if the current loop number is not greater than 0)".

macros

macros are defined in YEP_X_MessageMacros1

\m[slide]

evaluates to \bustSlideIn[0,4]

  • slides in the dialogue sprite with a duration of 4 (what unit???) (\bustSlideIn[0,4])

\m[clear]

evaluates to \bustClear[0,0]\lspi[90]\lson

clears the dialogue sprite and resets the letter sound pitch

  • instantly clears the dialogue sprite (\bustClear[0,0])
  • changes the letter sounds pitch to 90 (\lspi[90])
  • turns on letter sounds (\lson)

\m[wait]

evaluates to \lsoff\|\lson

waits 1 second

  • turns off letter sounds (\lsoff)
  • waits 1 second (\|)
  • turns on letter sounds (\lson)

\m[sec]

waits half a second
