cap_birdsgstatandstarstoSUGGESTSThe data source was updated and no longer uses a .kml file, but we could use the older version of the data to include the step to convert the kml file using
st_read.The data itself is relatively large (626 kb). Some variables could be dropped to reduce the size. Or data from certain date ranges could be dropped, as the frequency of collection changed from twice in 2000, to four times in 2001, to three times in 2005, to spring and winter only from 2006 - 2019.
