Evolution X 10.5 - 2025-04-21

What's New?

This is the last A15 release of my Evolution X GSI. Final A14 version should be out within a couple of hours. Thanks to everyone supporting this journey. Stay tuned for updates.

• Android 15 QPR2
• Sync with latest April version of Evolution X
• Sync with latest TrebleDroid patches (fixes the Bluetooth bug)
• Added bottom status bar padding setting in Treble app (Misc settings)

Build sizes:

• Normal: 5.0GB uncompressed (1.9GB compressed)
• Slim: 3.7GB uncompressed (1.4GB compressed)
• Vanilla: 3.0GB uncompressed (1.0GB compressed)

Known issues:

• FOD is broken on all devices
• Some devices don't have internet access
• Some older devices won't boot this GSI

What's New?

This'll most likely be my last A15 release. I'll release one more final A14 version (depending on the state of A15 QPR2 in the upcoming weeks, which is currently far too poor to deprecate A14) and that'll be it. See you again soon in a different format.

Bugs

• Fingerprint does not work on many devices (mostly Samsung). Android 15 has massively changed how fingeprint HALs are detected. I've tried fixing it, but ultimately gave up. TrebleDroid sources suffer from the same issue.

Evolution X 9.7 - 2024-12-26

What's New?

There's nothing really new in this release. If you're on 2024-12-25, you can keep using it, unless you want to experience these fixes. I'm tired from all these releases, so this is the last one for 2024. See you again in 2025.

• Prevent Xiaomi FOD from crashing the system – resolves #106
• Fix offline charger – resolves #60
• Fix network traffic indicator for some devices with older kernels (now even on SELinux enforcing kernels) – if it doesn't work, read this: #79 (comment)

Evolution X 10.2 - 2025-01-18

What's New?

I'll keep daily driving A14, so I'll keep releasing A14 builds (alongside A15) for the foreseeable future. I'll prioritize A14 issues over A15 issues. Evolution X is doing a slow but steady process of implementing A14 features in A15 builds. Not everything is there yet, however a lot of it is.
