Xerox Phaser 3020 Linux Driver

Archive of the official Linux driver for the Xerox Phaser 3020 monochrome laser printer.

This repository preserves the original Linux driver released by Xerox so it remains available for users of legacy or unsupported systems.

Older drivers are often removed from manufacturer websites over time. This project aims to mirror and preserve the driver for long-term access.

Printer Overview

The Xerox Phaser 3020 is a compact monochrome laser printer with:

  • Print speed up to 20 pages per minute
  • 600 × 600 dpi resolution (1200 enhanced)
  • USB and Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Support for Linux printing via a proprietary driver

The printer uses a GDI printing system, which requires a dedicated driver instead of a generic PostScript or PCL driver.

Installation

1. Download and Extract the ZIP File

If the driver is provided as a ZIP archive:

unzip Xerox_Phaser_3020_LinuxDriver.zip
cd Xerox_Phaser_3020_LinuxDriver
chmod -R +x .
./install.sh
./install-printer.sh

## Notes

After installation the printer added by installation might still not work - try adding new printer again and after that it should work fine.
From my experience for some reason 50% of the time I click print - the document is not printed and printer doesn't see any job being sent over - so maybe simply **retry few times** to make sure if it works or not.
