I’ve been asked a few times about the recent announcement that Red Hat’s Middleware engineering and product teams are moving to IBM so I thought I’d open this issue to share more broadly.
This move does include the Node.js team at Red Hat. This was a bit of a surprise for our team, but the move will not impact our involvement in the Node.js project, OpenJS foundation or the larger JavaScript ecosystem.
Our team will continue to work with the Node.js project in the same manner as before with the biggest change being that we’ll likely change our emails in the next few months.
Since the time that the IBM Node.js team moved to Red Hat around 5 years ago, we’ve counted TSC representation based on the combined numbers of Red Hat and IBM so there should be no impact due to TSC representation limits.
