Version 0 of the kernel, dubbed "killswitch", is the first version of the kernel. Version 0 of the kernel, dubbed "killswitch", is the first version of the kernel. It's called killswitch as it tests the baseline efficacy of the design of the kernel, with the hopes of testing the interface ABI, ports, and their respective performance on a small range of hardware and virtual environments.

While the kernel is technically multi-arch, AArch64 has been put on the backburner in order to reach this milestone before the deadline. Thus, x86_64 is the primary target architecture, and will be the first tier 1 target architecture to be supported at this time.
