- Eliminate unnecessary EAGAIN comparison - Remove redundant error message - Simplify error handling logic - Reduces binary size by ~15 bytes

- Remove unnecessary register pop operation - Remove commented code - Direct jump to cleanup routine - Reduces binary size by ~5 bytes
