To design the vehicle's main safety circuit, capable of opening the AIRs subject to a system fault.
The AIRs of the vehicle control the tractive system operation, whether the vehicle HV is powered or not. The AIR coils have many inline switches that all get opened when a dangerous event occurred, therefore shutting off the vehicle. This is a very good resource to get an idea of what this circuit does https://sf1e.slack.com/files/U7G3T4W9M/FBQHCC1R8/2012-rev-sae-instrumentation-michalek.pdf
- Create a summary of the rules for the shutdown circuit for 2017/18 rules and 2019 rules
- Create a presentation for the team demonstrating your understanding of the system functionality
- High level system block diagram showing the SDC interfacing with the rest of the car
- Present a plan for designing a rules-compliant shutdown circuit, feel free to reference other teams' designs
- BOM for all parts in SDC
- Schematic for SDC
- PCB if required for SDC (2 layers, within 100mmx100mm)
