Fulgoran lightning model
Fulgora lightning model.ods was used to model lightning on Fulgora (ignoring randomness) before further simplifying the model into code. It contains some instructions on how to adjust the model to your liking, and generates charts such as the ones below. The darker blue line is the total charge level of the accumulators. The grey line is the progress toward a lightning strike. The lighter blue line (visible just to the right of each spike on the grey line) is the charge level of the attractor.
One chart below shows a lightning rod and accumulator pairing where the limiting factor is the energy capacity of the accumulators. In this one, you can see the charge level repeatedly hit its maximum value starting about halfway through the night. The other shows a different pairing where the limiting factor is the accumulators' charging power. The accumulators draw their maximum charging current all through the night. When the night ends, they are not fully charged but they have absorbed enough energy to last through the day.
