Tech Support Engineer · Rightcharge | MSc Computer Science (AI) · University of York
I'm a Tech Support Engineer at Rightcharge — a software platform that ensures drivers of electric work vehicles are fairly reimbursed for home charging energy costs. I work at the intersection of software, energy data, and customer-facing technical problem solving.
My background is in IT operations and automation, where I spent several years building Python and PowerShell tooling that significantly reduced helpdesk workload. I recently completed an MSc in Computer Science (AI) at the University of York, where my dissertation explored fine-tuning transformer language models for educational content generation.
I'm drawn to problems where automation, data, and practical engineering meet, and to roles where technical depth makes a real difference to users.
Fine-tuning T5-small for GCSE maths question generation
My MSc dissertation investigated whether curriculum-specific fine-tuning of a small language model could produce educationally valid GCSE mathematics questions. Trained on fractions-of-an-amount problem sets and evaluated against a rubric of mathematical validity, curriculum alignment, and format correctness.
