I have forked tpick to make ppick: https://github.com/alanbork/ppick

while the interface is somewhat different, particularly at the command line, many of the changes are worth considering for tpick, such as caching the filter results, more descriptive variable names, and better curses support (faster, less flicker, and resize support). The code is not so deeply changed that those fixes could not be backported by an interested individual.

either way thanks for providing tpick as a starting place. it's easy to follow and much more hackable than the better known options like pick, fzf, etc.
