Hi,

I would like to thank everyone for their effort on this great project. I’ve been looking for an open-source and flexible FEM framework, and I recently came across SOFA. It looks very promising and well-designed.

Anyway, I am trying to build the new SOFA release. Since I am not yet familiar with the framework, I would like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind:

1 ) Does the new release support Python with a GUI? When I build SOFA with SP3, I get a “no GUI” warning. I also tried building with Qt, but couldn't get it to work. Do you have any recommended solutions? I also attempted the same with version 24.12, but faced similar issues—possibly related to package fetching, as no component folder in site-packages in SP3 after installation (in your binary there is a 'components folder')

2)After installation, I encounter some "files missing" errors. (build >> installation) I think cmake files for installations might have some problems in general. 24.12 (copying release folder after installation i.e install/bin/release (similar to build/bin/release) or missing files ), 25.06 (missing files scenechecking.dll or if qt fetched, missing qt) , current master(similar things).

1. yes. We improved the documentation in the section Executing a simulation detailing whether you are:

• With runSofa
• With the python3 interpreter
• Using the SOFA GUI from a python environment

2. About this second point, I am sorry I am not sure to understand what you mean
