Help needed in custom model integration in sofa and converting it

I am trying to load a custom 3d heart model obj for sofa framework. We tried reverse engineering the liver scn file but no luck. Any advice on how we can load our own custom models. Currently they are not even loading

Hi @ptclbb123

SOFA is not a 3D model design tool, I advise to look at 3D modeling tool like blender or to generate organ models from medical images. CGAL is a meshing library that can do such things among many other organ-specific tools.

we already have a model but i want to use it with sofa getting such on creating a scene file in xml

What kind of application are you aiming at? Catheter navigation? Electrophysiology simulation ?

To help you starting with SOFA, you can either :

• follow online tutorials - free
• use the documentation - free
• request training sessions
• or request the technical support from the SOFA consulting companies (like InfinyTech3D on cardiology)

i have looked up all of the documentation and tutorials
from the tutorials end , the website has the course that uses SOFA 23.06 version and the current version that I am using is 25.06 version
i tried reverse engineering by taking the liver cut example and using its xml file to copy the components and use it in my own xmk file a
but the results were zero
i only reached dead ends by thus approach
