Temperature values are obtained using only 12 bits, as shown on page 49 of the datasheet, reflecting a one degree change per 16 LSB. And this could solve #21.

@galch thanks for your fixes, I have merged them into my own fork. I would have just used your fork but I also wanted to integrate PR #35 as well. I will attempt to maintain the repo for others as it appears that Sparkfun isn't updating this any more
