Discussion instructions

colloquium instructions:

  • eMail the colloquium speaker, and ask for the paper dat will most closely discuss the colloquium's content.
  • Find another paper that criticises the work, or discuss it in a different context.
  • Read the paper
  • Prepare a 10 minutes presentation about the paper
  • In the discussion you will raise 3 questions:
    • One questions either on metholodogy or approach.
    • One questions either on future prospects.
    • One questions either on alternative explanations/models/theory.

Role of the chair

  • read the three papers two of which are part of the discussion, one is part of the colloquium.
  • discuss with the two presenters what they think is the key aspect of their respective papers.
  • Juxtapose the two objectives of the two papers.
  • Think of 3 questions you would like to have addressed during the time you discuss the papers.
