3 python code solution for homework

Strengths:

  • The solutions correctly implement binary search for all three problems.
  • The code is modular and easy to follow, especially with the use of helper functions in searchRange.
  • The time and space complexity are optimal.

Areas for Improvement:

  • Variable names like l and r could be more descriptive (e.g., left and right) to improve readability.
  • In minimumSortedArray.py, the condition (mid == 0 or nums[mid] < nums[mid-1]) and (nums[mid] < nums[mid + 1] or mid == len(nums)-1) could be simplified or commented for clarity.
  • In peakElement.py, the condition (mid == 0 or nums[mid-1] < nums[mid]) and (mid == len(nums)-1 or nums[mid] > nums[mid+1]) could also benefit from comments or simplification.
  • Edge cases could be handled more explicitly in all solutions to make the code more robust.
