Summary of Changes

Hello @marttonso, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request enhances the reliability of the aggregator service in the mainnet_v4_test environment by adding a redundant instance and implementing health checks during deployment. The ansible playbook is also updated to ensure serial execution and proper service startup.

Highlights

  • Aggregator Redundancy: Adds a second aggregator instance to the mainnet_v4_test environment.
  • Ansible Configuration: Introduces serial: 1 to the aggregator playbook to ensure only one aggregator is updated at a time.
  • Health Check: Adds a health check to the aggregator playbook to ensure the service is running before proceeding.

Code Review

This pull request adds a second aggregator instance for redundancy in the test environment. To support this, the Ansible playbook is updated to perform rolling updates (serial: 1) and includes a health check to ensure each service instance is healthy before proceeding. The changes are logical, but the Ansible playbook can be improved by removing a redundant pause and a superfluous delegate_to directive for better efficiency and clarity.

The ansible.builtin.pause task introduces a fixed delay. This is generally considered an unreliable practice in automation, as service startup times can vary. The subsequent task already polls the service's health endpoint, which is a more robust and efficient way to wait for the service to be ready. Removing this fixed pause will make the playbook more resilient and potentially faster.

The delegate_to: "{{ inventory_hostname }}" directive is redundant. By default, Ansible tasks execute on the host currently being processed from the inventory. This line delegates the task to the same host it would already run on, which adds unnecessary code and can be confusing for future maintenance. Removing it improves the playbook's clarity.
