Mysql barclamp
See all, Barclamp List
This is a Creole document
The MySQL barclamp provides a method to instantiate MySQL database servers by placing a node in the mysql-server role. The barclamp also provides a mysql-client that allows the node in that role to access the database server in the paired mysql-server role. The mysql cookbooks provide resource providers to access and control create databases and running sql against them as LWRPs.
Role | Description |
mysql-server | Create a single mysql server instance. |
mysql-client | Give the node access to the mysql-server. This can also be done with search currently. |
The barclamp provides a single mysql cookbook. The cookbook is used for building mysql servers and allowing clients to manipulate databases in the server.
The standard CLI script has been provided.
The barclamp has the following parameters:
Name | Default | Description |
datadir | /var/lib/mysql | The default working directory for mysql. |
db_maker_password | Random String | A String value for the password to make databases. This password is used to only create new databases by clients. |
server_debian_password | Random String | Dynamically created password for debian install |
server_repl_password | Random String | Dynamically created password for replication servers. Not Used Currently |
server_root_password | Random String | Dynamically created password for root access. |
Upon application of the proposal, the passwords are dynamically created for the accounts if they do not exist. The system will make sure that the server is created first.
A pending commit allows for backed up databases and storing it.
Another change is for a DRBD-based datadir.
Another change is to allow for replication slaves.
