## What happens if my spreadsheet requests a role I can't assign?

The import still completes. Any new member whose requested role is one you don't have permission to assign — for example, a **People admin** importing someone as **Workspace admin** — is invited as a **Member** instead, while the roles you can assign are kept. The import success message confirms that any affected new members were invited as members. See the **Change a User's Role** section above for which roles **People admins** can assign.
