  1. General policies and guidelines for data management
  2. Researcher checklist for data management and storage

In order to comply with our funding agency mandates and better work in a collaborative manner below is a outline of our Data Management Procedure.

Here we will define data as

  • Physical Data

    • Physical data (e.g., temperature, pH, total alkalinity, water flow, and physiological measures and metadata) stored as jpg, csv, and text files.
  • Biological Data

    • Biological data (e.g., temperature, pH, total alkalinity, water flow, and physiological measures and metadata) stored as jpg, csv, and text files.
  • Molecular Data

    • Amplicon, genome, methylome, and transcriptome data, mass spectrometry and histone post-translational modifications, stored as raw data and as assembled contigs and data tables.

For all data we will keep track of for internal purposes using this log

Priority will be given to keeping a version in a raw format, considering that one could always go back and analyze.

Data will be stored on mirrored servers at respective institutions

All Field data will be archived in BCO-DMO within 1 months of acquisition All Genomic data will be archive in NCBI within 1 months of acquisitions, and will be linked to in BCO-DMO.
