Open Notebooks
Given both the large collaborative nature of this research effort and the outreach objectives there in, engaging in open notebook science is strongly encouraged (and required in select lab groups).
There are several advantages of this approach, foremost being to the individual scientist, but there is considerable benefits to collaborators in our e5 community.
via Putnam Lab
notebooks document thoughts, analyses, knowledge gains, roadblocks, detours, and products. This lab's goal is to facilitate scientific advancement through the open sharing of data and analytical approaches. As with science, these notebooks are works in process, hopefully advancing with every iteration.
Several community members have considerable experience in this space and have come to the conclusion that GitHub is an optimal platform notebooks. The format and web interface of these notebooks can be highly customizable. This also allows for searchable notebook entries that come with the advantages of version control through GitHub. A few examples.
Another option could be leveraging https://urol-e5.github.io or taking advantage a platform such as Wordpress that you might already be using for a web presence. However if you are starting from scratch GitHub is recommended and can be jazzed up as can be found here and here.
See Putnam Lab Wiki or Roberts Lab Handbook for practical details on getting started (i.e., forking to generate your own notebook in your GitHub repository).
Please add a url for your notebook in this spreadsheet.
