Network connection

Depending on your inverter model, the presence of a dongle and the firmware version, there are one or more ways the Modbus TCP port can be accessed from your inverter.

Via the IP with which the inverter is directly connected to your home network

With the firmware version for the SUN2000L published at the beginning of 2023, it is again possible to establish a connection to the inverter via IP. Apparently this option does not exist for the SUN2000MA. This connection option does not allow query of slave inverters.

It is important to assign a static IP to the inverter in your router, as changing the IP is not supported by the adapter.

Modbus TCP port connection via the SDongle

Enable unrestricted Modbus TCP mode in the dongle communication settings in the inverter. (Modbus tcp guide SDongleA-05)

If the SDongle cannot connect to the Huawei FusionSolar cloud (e.g. due to a service or network outage), it will periodically restart to reconnect. This will also break the connection to that adapter.
